A Sockalicious Adventure - Day 1

This Easter break I have set myself the challenge of making a pair of crochet socks. Do you fancy coming on a sockalicious adventure and making them too? Project information: Free Pattern - Summer Sorbet Socks by DROPS Design Yarn - DROPS Fabel in colours 100 Off White (100g) and 310 Sunset Hook - 2mm      Choosing the pattern has been quite straight forward as I know I want to make striped socks. Each stripe will provide me with a mini goal post, to keep up my interest and keep me motivated.         The pattern shown above uses DROPS Alpaca in shades...

On my Hook - WIP - Easter Bunnies

Hurrah! At last I have completed a WIP; that I am ashamed to say I have had, in my pile of ‘things I must finish’, since March 2014. Three Easter’s ago I had a romantic notion that it would be very cute to create two Easter bunnies for my girls, that would live in a little suitcase and bring them new little gifts every Easter…an heirloom project. Megg the Easter Bunny hopped into the studio this week.      She has been bringing a great deal of joy, not least to my youngest who delighted in bouncing Megg about the house before I could even get her ears on, here she is having a well earned rest... Then it's time for the hook, yarn and notebook. My main aim was to create a...

Daffodils

My crochet basket is currently brimming with these stunning Spring inspired colours right now. The colour palette has been inspired by these two lovely Easter treasures that have been gifted to my children in past years.  I chose the beautiful colours from the DROPS Paris cotton range; 16 white, 17 off white, 35 vanilla, 14 strong yellow, 13 orange, 39 pistachio, 23 light grey This week I have been making lots of Daffodils, both at home and during the Easter Crochet workshop at the Studio. We all had great fun seeing all the Daffodils appear on the table in all shades of sunny...

On My Hook: Broomstick Lace Crochet

I have been eager to try Broomstick lace crochet for quite sometime now, then I found a gorgeous pattern for a crochet cowl whilst scouring Pinterest for 'How Broomstick Crochet' posts and could wait no longer!   The pattern I fell in love with is called the Broomstick Lace Cowl and can be found on the beautiful Mon Petit Violon blog (free to download). For my cowl I have decided to use DROPS Karisma in Forest Green (colour 47), a 20mm knitting needle and a 4mm hook.  The pattern does, however, use a 25mm knitting needle, so I know I will need...
